I believe that healthcare is basic Human right that we are all entitled to, not something that should be tied to your job or age. Even with insurance, costs are often too high to keep up. Many insurance plans don’t even cover chiropractic, and if they do it’s often not enough visits, or the copay is roughly the same as paying out of pocket, depending on the services.
That’s why with Solidarity Chiropractic I’ve made an effort to keep care affordable.
What good is consistent care if you can’t afford it?
-
We’re all busy. Work takes up most of our time, and no one likes to miss pay or use up vacation time to make an appointment. Let Solidarity Chiropractic come to YOU on YOUR schedule. I do house calls, office calls, wherever you need, as long as there’s room for an adjusting table.
To get around the typical 9-5, I offer afternoon, evening, night and hours, as well as weekends upon request for those not working traditional Monday-Friday, 9-5’s.
I’m there for you.

Being a queer woman with a mixed-race, non-binary, neuro-divergent spouse (both of us from disadvantaged backgrounds), starting a practice with a focus on these communities helps fulfill the passion I’ve always had to help my people. Through my own lived experiences along with those around me, I understand how much we’re up against when finding trustworthy, and non-judgmental healthcare. With personal experience from both from the provider side and the patient side, you have a safe space with Solidarity Chiropractic.
This is why I’m proud to represent, and hold space for, anyone who may have been unfairly left behind by the system—LGBTQ+, BIPOC, Sex Workers, Neuro-divergent folks, and anyone in between who doesn’t fit into society’s boxes. Again, healthcare is a Human right.
Because Solidarity is for everyone.

No pun intended.
I’ve always held the belief that my first job as a Doctor is to listen to my patients. If I’m not listening, how can I be expected to serve my patients in the way they need? This is about your care, not my ego. I’ll always to my best to serve you, but if I can’t help with something, I’ll work with you to find someone else who might.
There’s no singular magic bullet cure for every person or every ailment. All practitioners hold their place in the healthcare world, and Chiropractic is just one facet (albeit a very important one) of your body and mind’s overall health.
Let Solidarity Chiropractic be an addition to your overall health routine.
How Does Mobile Care Work?
Currently, I offer in-home or in-office care. Wherever you’d like your treatment to happen.
My ultimate hope is to have a mobile clinic with which I can reach even more people in our community. More on that soon.

Interested in starting care? Click HERE to go to the booking site. Select initial visit, follow the steps, and you’ll be sent the paperwork we’ll need for your first visit.
Please be sure to complete these forms as completely as possible.
Important!
Don’t forget to provide THE ADDRESS WHERE I AM MEETING YOU if this is not the same as your home address.
ALSO provide easiest way to reach you in case there is a travel delay or I’m unable to locate you.
-
After you’ve completed your forms and provided the address where your treatment will take place (if different from your home address), I will travel to you at the time of your selected appointment.
I have in my toolbox a sturdy portable adjusting table and all the tools I’ll need for our first exam—no need to provide anything except a little space for the table!
-
Every new patient gets an exam included in their initial visit price.
To start, we’ll do a quick consultation where we go over your health history, talk about your concerns and goals, answer any questions or concerns you might have.
At this point, we’re ready to start our exam. I’ll run a few basic tests and checks to get the best idea of what’s going on and how I can help.
Stop me with any questions at any time!
Once we’ve narrowed down what to work on, we’ll move on to the adjustment.
A note on imaging: I do not offer imaging. While x-rays and MRIs are always helpful, they are not always necessary or required to move forward with treatment. If at any point we find something that may require further evaluation, we’ll work together to find an imaging center that best works for your time, location, and budget. If you already happen to have images of the area, these are also helpful and I’d be happy to take a look.
-
After the exam is complete and we’re confident in moving forward, we’ll begin your adjustment.
While there are many different styles and techniques used to adjust, I primarily adjust by hand (the “old school” way, sometimes referred to as the “Palmer Package”). I’ve built a reputation of being a “deep” adjuster, getting things moving—if there’s a joint that needs to move, I’ve got you.
If this doesn’t sound like what you need, or things aren’t quite working how we’d like, there’s also the option of built-in drops on my portable table, and I also work with a much less forceful tool called the Activator.
Unfamiliar with what an adjustment is? My preferred technique works while you are laying on your stomach. I’ll take an even closer check of your spine, and deliver a quick and controlled impulse to the problem areas, realigning your joints and restoring motion and nerve flow. This is where people hear and feel the “crack” or “pop” you often hear about.
Sometimes you might hear people refer to chiropractic care as “getting cracked” or a “manipulation.” Most chiropractors prefer to use “adjustment,” as “manipulation” sounds… well, manipulative and can carry a negative connotation… and getting “cracked” over simplifies and minimizes the effect of the treatment—since an adjustment directly affects your nervous system, it can be quite impactful.
-
Once we’ve finished up with our exam and treatment, we’ll talk about recommendations and follow ups.
The most common thing to expect after the adjustment (besides relief!) is soreness similar to a workout, sometimes mild headaches while your body acclimates to it’s new settings. This can look different for everyone, so we’ll find recommendations that work for you.
This is also a great time schedule your follow up. You can always schedule on your own at the booking page, but it’s best to do it in person. Not only does this get you the time the works best for you, but it can also help you get into a routine of regular care, and help you hold yourself accountable for your care if you’ve already picked your time.

Medicare includes patients who are 65+, or are collecting social security due to disability.
Since I do not bill Medicare (or any other insurance), I am only able to accept Medicare eligible patients seeking care for chronic and/or minor discomfort. This is because any issues deemed “medically necessary” by Medicare should be billed to them, regardless of how you plan to pay.
For example, a chronic issue, such as lower back pain from arthritis, would be considered maintenance care, and chiropractic care is considered (by Medicare) not medically necessary and is therefore not covered, allowing you to pay out of pocket.
However, a fall, accident, new injury, or nerve involvement would be an active/acute problem, in which case chiropractic care would be considered medically necessary by Medicare, and should be billed as such. In this scenario, a referral would be made to another provider who does bill Medicare.
If you have any questions about your situation before scheduling a new patient appointment, please reach out so that we can figure out the best route for your care.
Meet Dr. Sherman
Hello! I’m Doctor Kathryn Sherman, owner and solo practitioner of Solidarity Chiropractic, PLLC.
-
I was born and raised in northeast Iowa. I grew up dabbling in almost every sport, but soccer was my first love. This lead me to choose a career path working with the body, joints in particular.
After high school, I attended the University of Northern Iowa (go, Cats!), where I studied biology with a pre-med emphasis, and played collegiate rugby. I graduated in spring of 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in biology and minors in both chemistry and earth science.
I began my studies at Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa, the birthplace of the profession, in the fall of 2011. In 2016, I graduated with my Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
I’m proud to say that while attending, I became an integral part in bringing about change the school curriculum. After bringing concerns to administration about certain words and actions seen around campus, a much more robust class has since been added in order to address biases, stereotypes, and misconceptions which often lead to poorer health outcomes for members of outlying and/or minority communities such as women, LGBTQ+ folks, BIPOC folks, etc.
I worked practiced in a local clinic in Iowa for about a year, and moved with my spouse to Austin, Texas for about three years. Looking to move back to somewhere less hot than Texas, less snowy than Iowa, we landed in Vancouver, Washington. Since that first move, most of my time in practice had been spent overseeing and working in high-volume clinics.
In the spring of 2026, I stepped out on my own and formed Solidarity Chiropractic with the intention of addressing some of the disparities that are often faced by some of our communities—LGBTQ+ folks, BIPOC, sex workers, blue-collar workers, etc. My own lived experience, coupled with over a decade of professional experience, helps me fill this niche.
I’ve delivered somewhere in the range of 110,000 adjustments since beginning practice. Gifting this much of myself to patients has been such a privilege, and I look forward to adding countless more to this total.

Admittedly, I’m an introverted homebody and night owl—I’m an only child, so I’m great at entertaining myself. Most of my free time is spent relaxing at home with my unbelievably supportive Spouse of 10 years (together 20!), and our two cats.
If I’m not poking around the house or gaming with our friends, I can usually be found out with my Spouse exploring the city, forest, or coastline. We’d love to find more quiet, local places to hike, so please share if you know any good secret spots!
Some of our favorite things to do around the Vancouver/Portland area include attending Thorns games, going to concerts and shows, finding new food trucks, and frequenting local LGBTQ+ events around the city.
